Polar Fleece Construction and Fiber Options

Our polar fleece is produced from 100% polyester or recycled polyester (GRS-certified), knitted into a brushed, double-faced structure. The smooth face is suitable for print and bonding applications; the brushed face provides thermal insulation. Available in standard and heavyweight constructions for different end-use requirements.

Production Process and Finishing

Polar fleece production begins with polyester yarn, which is knitted into a base fabric and then brushed on one or both faces to raise the fiber pile. The brushing process determines the pile height and hand feel. Anti-pill finishing is applied to reduce surface abrasion in use. Dyeing and finishing are carried out to order, with options for solid colors, heather effects, and print-ready surfaces.

Fabric Specifications

      • Weight range: 150–450 GSM, covering lightweight liners to heavyweight outerwear fleece.
        • Fiber content: 100% polyester or recycled polyester blends. Key performance properties include moisture management, quick-drying characteristics, and dimensional stability after repeated washing. Anti-pill finish is standard; additional functional treatments are available on request.

Manufacturing Capabilities

        Runtang Textile produces polar fleece in our factory, with full in-house knitting, dyeing, and finishing capabilities. Custom development is available for weight, pile height, color, and finish specifications. We supply branded samples prior to bulk order confirmation. Annual production capacity supports stable delivery schedules for ongoing brand programs.

Sustainable and Functional Fleece Options

      GRS-certified recycled polyester options are available for brands with sustainable sourcing requirements. Functional finishing variants include water-repellent (DWR) treatment and bonded constructions for softshell and windproof applications. Blended constructions combining polyester with spandex are available for stretch-performance outerwear. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified options are available. Please confirm certification requirements at the time of sampling.
