Single Jersey Construction and Fabric Properties

Jersey knit is produced on a single-knit circular machine using a continuous knit stitch. The structure creates one smooth face and one textured reverse, with inherent natural crosswise stretch in the crosswise direction.

Fiber Options and GSM Range

We supply jersey knit fabric in a wide range of fiber compositions: 100% cotton, cotton/polyester blends (CVC and TC), cotton/modal, viscose, polyester, and cotton/spandex for stretch applications. Weight ranges from 80 GSM for lightweight tees to heavier jersey weights for structured tops, winter layers, or specialty apparel.

Apparel Applications

Jersey knit stretches and snaps back into shape well. This makes it comfy and easy to move in.

Custom Jersey Fabric Development

Custom jersey fabric development is available for brands with specific fiber, weight, or finish requirements. We support development from yarn sourcing through finished sample, including solid dyeing, printing, and special finishes such as liquid ammonia treatment for cotton jersey. Minimum order quantities start at 300kg per color for custom solid colors, with stock options available from 25kg. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified options are available. Please confirm certification requirements at the time of sampling.

Jersey Knit Fabric Manufacturing Process

Jersey knit fabric is produced on circular single-knit machines using continuous weft knitting. Yarn is fed to individually controlled needles that form interlocking loop structures across the fabric width. Dyeing is performed after knitting, with Runtang operating its own dyeing and finishing line to control color consistency and handle certifications including GRS-certified recycled polyester blends. Finished fabric is inspected and rolled to client-specified widths prior to shipment.
